‘He will be top’: James Milner says one Liverpool player has ‘got everything’
Speaking on Amazon Prime Sport’s YouTube channel, James Milner has been discussing Darwin Nunez and his potential.
The Uruguayan striker arrived this summer with much fanfare, but after a slow start to life in England, many wondered whether or not he had what it takes to make it in the Premier League.
However, in recent weeks, Nunez has shown exactly what he’s all about, and according to Milner, the young striker has everything it takes to be an absolute star at Anfield.
The midfielder spoke about the Reds’ summer signing.
“He’s got everything to score a lot of goals at Liverpool. He’s come to a new country, he can’t speak too much English yet. He’s a great lad, some of the banter he is having, he’s learning English,” Milner said.
“People underestimate how difficult it is. It’s the same sport, but you’re moving your family, it’s a different language, different food, weather. It’s a big step, but the attributes he has, finishing, both feet, in the air, he works his nuts off. He will be top, no doubt about that.”
Unpolished gem
As Milner says, Nunez does have all of the attributes needed to be a superstar, he just needs to find a way to put everything together on a weekly basis.
He’s one of the fastest and strongest players in the Premier League, while his shot is an absolute rocket when he connects properly.
However, at times, he has lacked that level of composure needed to score goals at this level, but that should come as he matures and grows.
Nunez could well be one of the Premier League’s best players one day, but at the moment, he’s an unpolished diamond.
