Liverpool given green light to sign 25-year-old Serie A midfielder

 


Liverpool and Man United have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of the Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, who is closing in on signing a deal extension with the Rossoneri. 

Bennacer has been a crucial figure for Milan since joining the club, and the Rossoneri were always determined to secure his long-term future, despite the links to other European teams.

These included Liverpool and Man United. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool and Man United can now move on to other targets and bring in adequate midfield reinforcements in the upcoming windows. 

It is no secret that both teams will need to improve their midfield in order to challenge for major trophies.

The Reds will likely lose footballers like Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Miller at the end of the campaign. 

And the German manager will need to bring in more than one central midfielder to strengthen his squad. Liverpool have been linked with footballers like Jude Bellingham, Enzo Fernandez, and Sofyan Amrabat in recent weeks.

It has been a mediocre campaign for Liverpool and Man United so far, and they are vying for a place in the top four. Clubs of their stature cannot afford to miss out on Champions League football next campaign. 

So it will be interesting to see if they can perform at a high level during the second half of the season and secure a top-four finish.
