Brighton vs Liverpool: Liverpool’s injury news and predicted lineup

Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion. The Reds come into the game on the back of two poor results, one a 3-1 loss at the hands of Brentford in the Premier League and then a 2-2 draw against Wolves in the FA Cup.

Liverpool has had an underwhelming season primarily driven down to two main reasons: a lack of consistency and intensity and a set of injuries to a bunch of high-impact star players. That is exactly why they are in a top-four battle rather than a fight for the title.

The Reds will have to be at their best to overcome a Brighton team that is only a point below them in the league and could overtake Klopp’s men with a victory. Here’s the latest Liverpool injury news ahead of the trip to the Amex Stadium.

Roberto Firmino last played the season resumed following the World Cup. Despite Klopp’s optimism that his problem was modest, it remains to be seen if he will play in the rematch of the FA Cup encounter against Brighton or Wolves.

Hence he is not available.

James Milner has been missing since hobbling off in the 3-2 Carabao Cup loss to Manchester City on December 22. Despite Klopp’s admission that Milner was only anticipated to miss a couple of games, it is unclear whether he will be fit for the matches against Brighton and Wolves.

Hence he is not available.

Virgil van Dijk suffered an injury in the 3-1 defeat at Brentford. Based on what Klopp had said earlier, Van Dijk will miss out on the entire month.

Hence he is not available.

Diogo Jota hasn’t played since October and is set to remain out for the rest of the month. He’ll then need to work on his fitness.

Hence he is not available.

Luis Diaz, during the World Cup, the winger experienced a setback in his recovery during a vacation to Dubai. Diaz is anticipated to return only in March 2023.

Hence he is not available.

Arthur Melo who is on loan from Juventus has only played 12 minutes for Liverpool and is still out due to surgery. This is a loan that has not worked out for either Liverpool or Arthur. Hence he is not available.

Liverpool has struggled with injuries this season, and they will need to be at their best to beat Brighton on Saturday. The match will be challenging for the club, with essential players unavailable.
