Contact made: Liverpool take first steps to land 'monumental' £70m machine
Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of securing a transfer deal for Inter defender Milan Skriniar this month.
The centre-back is set to see his contract at the Italian club expire at the end of the season, having previously been linked with an €80m (£70m) move away last summer.
Liverpool recently suffered a significant blow as defender Virgil van Dijk picked up a hamstring injury that is set to see him spend a month on the sidelines.
This has now led to the Merseyside club taking some steps towards a potential swoop for the Nerazzurri defender.
And a recent report from 90min had this to say about Skriniar and Liverpool’s interest in him.
It said: “Intermediaries have reached out to Inter to discuss the possibility of a January transfer to Anfield, and while Inter want to keep Skriniar, they would consider parting ways with the defender this month if he refuses to extend and approaches a free transfer at the end of the season.”
His latest campaign in Serie A has seen the ‘monumental‘ 27-year-old show what he’s capable of and why he’d be a useful addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
