Liverpool in the hunt to sign 21-year-old Primeira Liga playmaker
Liverpool have prioritised a move for Benfica playmaker Enzo Fernandez, who is valued at £105m. The Merseyside giants have reportedly moved on from Jude Bellingham. The 21-year-old playmaker was chosen as the best young footballer in the recently-concluded World Cup after he helped Argentina win the competition.
Fernandez put on splendid displays in Qatar, and his displays have caught the attention of the Reds. The Merseyside giants are in desperate need of a complete midfielder like him, and it will be interesting to see if they can convince Benfica to sell Enzo in the coming months.
Man United are in the battle to sign Argentina international as well. Liverpool recently signed Darwin Nunez from the Eagles, and they will be hoping to convince Benfica to sell the Argentine playmaker as well. The Argentine joined the Primeira Liga giants at the start of the campaign and has been an important first-team footballer for them.
But he has now become a top target for the Reds, who are moving on from Jude Bellingham. It is unlikely that the Eagles will look to sell the South American playmaker for a knockdown price.
Enzo Fernandez is likely to be tempted to move to Liverpool if a concrete offer is presented, as it would be an exciting new challenge in his career. The ex-River Plate playmaker deserves to play at a higher level, and a move to Anfield would give him the platform to showcase his qualities in the PL and the UCL.
