Liverpool in pole position to sign €25m-rated African midfielder

Liverpool will have to fork out €40m for Sofyan Amrabat if they want to add him when the transfer window reopens in winter.

Morocco international excelled in the recently concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup, helping the national team reach the semi-finals of the competition.

The Atlas Lions surpassed all expectations in Qatar, and Sofyan’s performances caught the attention of the top clubs, including the Merseyside giants.

The Reds could use a footballer like him during the second half of the campaign. And it will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal with Fiorentina.

It looks that they will have to agree to pay the €40m asking price in order for any move to go through. Amrabat will add defensive cover and work rate to the Reds midfield if the transfer goes through.

The 26-year-old midfielder is in peak form, and he could be a crucial figure for Liverpool during the second half of the campaign.

The Merseyside giants will have to improve a lot to finish in the top four, and a signing like the Moroccan midfielder could galvanise the squad.

The African midfielder is likely to partner Thiago and Fabinho if he joins the Reds. The Moroccan would be an upgrade on footballers like Oxlade-Chamberlain and Milner.

The Merseyside giants certainly have the means to pay the reported €40m asking price for the former Hellas Verona midfielder.

Also, Sofyan Amrabat has age on his side and he could justify the outlay. Recent reports have also suggested that the midfielder wants to join Liverpool.
