Liverpool set to make January bid for explosive Bayern Munich playmaker


 Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a move for Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala’s as the youngster recently hinting at a future move to the English top-tier.

The 19-year-old attacker has spent time with Chelsea and Southampton as a youngster before making a move to Bayern Munich back in 2019, with his first-team debut for the Bundesliga heavyweights coming in June 2020.

Musiala has since represented his German team on 85 times in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and nine assists in the process.

The Germany international has been a vital player for Bayern this season, playing seven games in all competitions, contributing five goals and two assists in the process.

Musiala, who represented England at youth level, has a deal at Allianz Arena until June 2026, however, he recently opened the door on a future move to the English top-tier.

“Playing [my] whole career at FC Bayern? Many factors come together,” Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted the youngster as saying. “I’m very happy at Bayern. You never know what will happen in six to seven years.

“Premier League? Really strong league, big stars go there. But… no idea, now I’m at Bayern. [It’s a] super top club.”

According to TEAMtalk, both Man Utd and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the situation, having been given encouragement that the player is open to make a switch to English club in the nearby future.

Musiala was also in strong form for Bayern during the 2021-22 season, scoring eight goals and registering six assists in 40 games in all competitions.

The attacker will be bidding to continue his fine start to the season when Bayern Munich face Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.
