Liverpool in pole position to sign €30m-rated Dutch midfielder

Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. And they have established contacts with the Netherlands international’s entourage regarding a potential move. However, La Dea are not prepared to let Koopmeiners leave in summer.

So the Merseyside giants will have to wait until the summer transfer window to add Teun, who recently emerged on their radar. The Reds are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements, and the 24-year-old midfielder could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition.

The Dutch midfielder has been in fine form for Atalanta this campaign, chipping in with five goals and two assists despite playing as a defensive midfielder. The Dutchman is versatile enough to operate as a midfielder as well. And it stays to be seen whether Liverpool can agree on a fee with La Dea for the midfielder in the coming months.

The 24-year-old midfielder could be the perfect partner for Thiago at the heart of Liverpool’s midfield. Liverpool have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent months, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Jude Bellingham, Enzo Fernandez and Sofyan Amrabat thought to be on the top of their radar.

As for Teun, the opportunity to join the Reds will be an attractive option for the footballer and he could be tempted to move to Anfield at the end of the campaign. Working with a world-class coach like Jurgen Klopp will help the 24-year-old Dutchman improve further and fulfil his potential.
