Liverpool in talks to sign 20-year-old Spain international
Ansu Fati has been linked with several PL teams over the last few days and Liverpool have now joined Man United in the battle to add Barcelona winger at the end of the campaign. The Merseyside giants are in need of attacking reinforcements and they could certainly use a quality winger like Spain international.
But the Reds face intense tournament from several teams, including Man United, for Fati. Ansu has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona, and he has not been a regular starter for Xavi Hernandez. The 20-year-old winger needs to play regularly to continue his development and fulfil his world-class potential.
The Spanish attacker has been linked with Arsenal and Man United. Both teams have been in touch with his agent Jorge Mendes regarding a summer move. However, the Spaniard reportedly wants to continue at the Catalan club. And the Blaugrana do not have the intention of selling the attacker either.
That said, sitting on the bench at a top club will only affect his development negatively. And Fati needs to move on in search of regular football. Diaz and Salah are the only reliable wingers at Anfield right now. And the German coach has had to field attacking midfielders as makeshift wingers quite often.
Signing someone like Ansu Fati will add more quality and depth to the squad. Furthermore, the German coach has a proven track record of nurturing talented youngsters into established superstars. And he could have a positive impact on the development of the Spanish international.
