Liverpool planning shock summer move for €60m-rated Serie A attacker

Federico Chiesa is on the radar of Liverpool, as they look to bring in more attacking reinforcements during the summer transfer window. Juventus will demand nearly €60m to part ways with the 25-year-old winger. It is highly unlikely that the Bianconeri will sanction a departure for Chiesa in the summer.

So the Merseyside giants will have to wait until the next transfer window to sign Federico. The Reds have been tracking him since 2021. Italy international recently recovered from a long-term injury, and he has managed to play only eight games across all tournaments.

The Italian attacker was expected to develop into a world-class footballer following his displays at UEFA Euro 2020. However, the long-term fitness issue was a stumbling block for him. And it will be interesting to see if he can get over his injury problems and fulfil his world-class potential.

Meanwhile, the Old Lady’s recent controversy has captured the attention of several teams, including the Reds. The Italian can operate on either flank, but he is a right-sided forward. The German coach will be keen to avoid a similar situation. Apparently, the former Fiorentina attacker is valued at €60m.

The Merseyside giants certainly have the finances to pay that kind of money for Chiesa. But they have other priorities as well. Liverpool will need to bring in a few central midfielders this summer, and splashing €60m on a winger might not be on top of their priority list.
